That advice was aimed largely at school networks, and it pointed readers towards a category of site that is one of the more reliable ways to pick up malware. This version explains why Roblox gets blocked, why “unblocked” sites are dangerous, and what actually works.
If Roblox will not load, the first question is who blocked it, because the answer determines whether there is anything legitimate to do about it.
Work out what is actually blocking it

If it is a school or workplace network
Being direct about this: there is no legitimate technical fix, and looking for one causes real problems.
- Bypassing a school filter is against the acceptable use policy you agreed to. Consequences range from losing network access to formal disciplinary action.
- On a work network it is worse. Circumventing security controls is a dismissable offence in most organisations, and it is monitored.
- Filtering is often a legal requirement, not an arbitrary choice — schools in many countries are obliged to filter, and the school cannot simply switch it off.
The realistic options are: play at home, ask whether there is a legitimate exception process, or accept it. That is genuinely the whole list.
Why “unblocked games” sites are dangerous
This is the practical reason to avoid them, separate from any rules.
Sites advertising “unblocked Roblox” or “Roblox unblocked at school” cannot actually run Roblox — it is a native application with a client, not a browser game they can host. So what they offer instead is one of: a downloader that installs something else; a “proxy” that captures your login; an endless chain of adverts and fake download buttons; or a browser extension with permission to read everything you do.
Roblox account theft is a large and organised business, because accounts hold Robux and limited items with real resale value. Sites promising unblocked access are one of the main channels for it.
If you have already used one, change your Roblox password, turn on two-step verification, and check Settings → Security for sessions you do not recognise.
If it is a home network or a family device
Here there is something legitimate to do: ask.
A conversation about how much time is reasonable, or which days, usually works better than trying to get round a control — particularly since parental control apps report attempts to bypass them, which turns a negotiation into a trust problem.
If you are the parent and want to adjust it:
- Windows: family.microsoft.com → the child’s account → app and website limits.
- iOS: Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions.
- Android: Family Link.
- Router-level: in the router’s parental control section, usually by device.
If Roblox is broken rather than blocked
Sometimes it is not a block at all. Work through these:
- Check Roblox’s status at status.roblox.com. Outages are not rare.
- Restart the app and the device.
- Clear the app cache on Android, or reinstall on iOS.
- Check for updates — an out-of-date client is refused.
- Try a different network, such as mobile data, to see whether the network is the factor.
- Check your account at roblox.com for a moderation notice. A suspended account produces failures that look like a network block.
- Try a different DNS if your ISP’s resolver is at fault — see how to change DNS servers. This applies to a home connection, not to getting round a school filter.
- Allow it through the firewall if a security product is blocking it — see allowing an app through the firewall.
Keeping a Roblox account secure
Worth doing regardless, since accounts are actively targeted:
- Turn on two-step verification: Settings → Security.
- Use a unique password, not one reused from anywhere else.
- Never enter your login on a non-Roblox site. No legitimate service needs it.
- Ignore free Robux offers. There is no mechanism by which they can exist; every one is a phishing page or a survey scam.
- Turn on the account PIN to stop settings being changed if someone gets in.
